    Fab weejend, thanks!

Hi everyone, thanks for a great weekend, I really had fun and it was relaxing and just good fun.  Good to meet old friends and new, and have a change to make pan au chocolat to take to the friends I was visiting afterwards!  They and I were impressed!  Lots of fun, and thanks to everyone who did the organising and to us all for going!

Allison (I might get my photos on here one day!)

    Not much baking going on!

Hi, not much baking (ie none!) going on in my house, as my dream kitchen is a black hole with builder man and boiler man sorting out wiring before kitchen works!  Usefully, I have the old sink and old cooker only – not conducive to baking or cooking or even eating!

    So whet my appetite…!

In case anyone doesn’t know Mick has produced…

In case anyone doesn’t know Mick has produced a book called Bethesdabasics with a selection of his finest formulae and a no nonsense guide to revving up a sourdough starter and looking after it. I baked this loaf from it on Sunday. Looking forward to seeing some/all of you again this year in his neck of the woods!

A slice of Mick's 5 seed with some spelt Sourdough getting its Vitamin D

PS A word of explanation. When the DDD was over, I relinquished my admin role on this blog to BirdandBeard, and the software effectively made the posts I had written (not the replies and comments) look as if they had been written by BandB. We have tried to sort this out recently so that the DDD blog remains ‘true’ to how it was written but if it looks a bit odd that’s why!

Photos found in the Media Library today

    Robin's brioche

    Loaves and fishes

    Who claims this loaf?

Never thought to look in the “Media Library” but here are some pics that people have uploaded but  not attached to posts, so we never got to see them, or else we did, and I have forgotten; my short term memory is getting worse and worse…

If anyone does pop back here, it’s a peaceful place to practise being a blogger.

    All the best, Zeb

I claim ownership of the loaves and fishes! Should have tagged it chocveg!

That third one is Phil Joy’s – he sent me a copy when telling me about the weekend. Sounds like it was great.

        Cheers

Lovely fishes Chocveg! I think I saw Phil’s loaf being made into sandwiches Chris!

By the way, on the subject of photos. If anyone does want to use photos taken over this event, although they are publically viewable, they are still subject to copyright and I and the other people who have shared their images with the group would like to be asked first before they appear in another context from this blog or Flickr.

Just seen this post. I think you can claim a chuck of brioche, Joanna, for getting me to start it (sorry you had to leave before you could try some.

Phil Joy bakes with the Loaf today

    Derbyshire Day

Andy from the loaf in Crich has just sent me a link to his blog and a local radio broadcast that everyone might want to check out. The radio segment starts at 36.30.

Sounds like a great day Phil! Brilliant stuff!

    Thank You

Just a thank you from me as well to everyone for making it a great weekend. I have tried some new things already such as the “old bread” idea in naturally leavened bread suggested by Zeb which worked well.

    Best wishes, Ben

    Pix

I’ve put my pix on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/53710356@N08/sets/72157624881661330/

No idea how to link it to the blog.

Definitely a few caption competitions in there.

I’ve moved the flickr link to the top of the sidebar. To see the photos bigger click on any of them and open in a new tab, to see more photos, click on more photos at the bottom of the displayed photos. Edited to say : See Joe’s comment below on how to add photos to the Group 🙂 I’ve got my computer back so will add Brian’s later today.

I have set the group up as public so no need for invites, if you click on the ‘More Photos’ link at the bottem of the photos in the side bar it will take you to the DDD2010 group. At the top of that page there is an option to join the group. Once you have joined you can then add photos to the group pool. The last 10 hotos added to the group pool show on the side bar.

Thank you – I have joined Flikr at long last (years ago I got so cross with not being able to find a name or password which no-one else had already got, that all my pix are on Snapfish instead). How can I find the lovely pix you posted on the blog of work in progress? Stig

I’ve added some photos. Apologies that the colour is so bad, I’ve tried tweaking them but they are not the best 😦

No, I just have that effect on people. But smiley pix can get a bit boring.

Thanks for lift to Richmond – the journey home was pretty painless except for picking up a £25 taxi fare for the four miles from the station home.

        Mick
