    On Starters, by Zeb

Presumably, could I be presuming wrong, there will be ‘house starter’ a unique blend of bacteria and yeasts nurtured in Swaledale, bathed in the running waters of the farm, fed by our hosts, bubbling away and ready to rock and roll? I am leaving mine at home for a rest. They like it when I go away, they stay up late, watch tv, eat inappropriate flours….

      Hia Zeb

I normally feed mine everyday and I haven’t left it before,
I don’t want it to die if I leave it unfed for 4 days,

Or will it be oK? I leave it out the fridge as there isn’t enough space

Not saying leave yours behind, just don’t worry about supplying the masses Phil 🙂 I leave mine and it behaves fine in the fridge, but everyone does it differently, a baker has to do what a baker has to do….

Joe has a good active starter, but mine is in stasis (probably an ex-starter now) after forgetting to take it on holiday with me earlier in the summer hols.

So are you going to make a big batch of Joe’s. How did Mick and Rick do it last year? It just seemed to be there… Do you want us all to bring starter with us?

    On Starters by Phil

I will be bringing my starter down with me but in total there’s only about 500g of it, so what I could do is keep refreshing more and not use any for a few days and then there should be quite abit to bring with me should be able to make it up to 1500g, Is anyone else bringing any??

    Cheers
    Phil
