I fell asleep watching it on replay… what does that say about me.? Those programmes are not about the baking but about the people anyway. Though I liked the footage of the Merthyr Tydfil communal ovens.

          No, just disengaged ;(

I ought to say thank you here too, though I have given thanks elsewhere πŸ™‚ Thank you Joe for grand designs and Martin and Caroline and Mouse for opening your home to us in such a grand way and the great welcome and fine meals we had together. I loved meeting you all and the animals and having an opportunity to be with you all. I wish I had had more time to bake and had got my head together a bit more. And I really wished I’d stayed for a taste of that fab looking brioche Robin! Lovely to meet you Fran, Val , Phil, Terry and Stef and Allison and Stig, Ben, Jack, Mick, and Gareth – fun to be with you all again πŸ™‚ I come back home and look at my suburban patch and wonder where I could fit an oven and a camp site…. fantasize about hiring one of those kitchens that come on a lorry….

It was a genuine pleasure to meet you, you are talented and hard working. You would be a great asset to any small bakery especially one which has a cafe or tea rooms.

    Bread to bring up

    Hi all
I have made a loaf to use up the ends of some bags of flour,
So here it is, it has got some Malted 5grain flour, strong flour, rye flour, then I chucked in 2 handfuls of oats and used up about 10 green olives I had left in a jar, all equals a very heavy quite big loaf, so it will cool overnight and ill wrap it up and bring it with me tomorrow.

    Empty the shelf Bread

    Hi all
I’m going to make a big loaf to bring down if that’s ok,as I have been cleaning out my cupboards and I’ve got half a bag of Malted 5 grain flour, half bag of wholemeal, half bag of white and some rye flour, to use up, so ill add some oats and see what the result is at the end, if its no good, it will do for a door stop lol. One more night left

Have worked out basic main meal ingredient costs. Not worked out the rest as we havent got all the flour or sundries, but expect the cost for bakers to be Β£50 or less and non baking partners to be roughly half that.
Sorry cant be more specific at the mo.

I will be bringing my starter down with me but in total there’s only about 500g of it, so what I could do is keep refreshing more and not use any for a few days and then there should be quite abit to bring with me should be able to make it up to 1500g, Is anyone else bringing any??

    Cheers
